"Manufacture"
A real place I wrote about. It isn't really called "Manufacture."
Take a little visit to the camp called, in my novel, “Manufacture.” Here defended by the typically smug activist from Nantes. The typical Nantais has no idea what goes on in this place. I’ve seen the place explode since first going into the interior with garbage collection crews in 2020. Once, on arriving at 0600 for a 0630 departure I found our collection center parking lot full of gendarmes and CRS, about two hundred men. This is what it takes to arrest someone in this zone. They were in our parking lot because the arrest team had to scale the fence while another unit created a distraction at the entry.
If you don’t speak French I guess you have to take my word for it that the activist’s objection are purely political. The guy filming has permission and is accompanied by a resident. The assumed authority is astounding. She has no legal standing, but knows she will be completely supported by the mayor, who is up for re-election in a week. For the first time in nearly thirty years, the socialist candidate might be in danger. Also, she speaks this way knowing no judge in Nantes would ever sanction this behavior.
